LEWISHAM: Council appeal for car club interest

RESIDENTS interested in joining a car club are being urged to contact the council.
Lewisham Council wants to hear from people who would benefit from the flexibility and good value of collecting and using cars on a pay-as-you-go basis.
It has been working with the car club company Streetcar since August 2006 and has recently installed 10 new car club parking spaces across the borough.
A spokesman for the council said: "Our objective is to reduce the number of vehicles owned by residents occupying kerb space.
"We are keen to expand the on-street bays in the borough and will investigate installing one in your area if you contact us to express your interest."
